Las Sendas, an exclusive master-planned community in Mesa, Arizona, is an oasis set in the pristine Sonoran Desert.
Its name, which in Spanish means the paths, refers to the miles of natural desert and hard-surface trails for walking, running and biking, which are designed to lead to intimate settings.
With its scenic mountain and valley views, Las Sendas is a beautiful haven for those who have the time or inclination to put the world on pause and devote themselves to relaxation and recreation.
While single-family homes of 1,500 to 3,000 square feet typically are priced from $365,000 to $700,000, luxury estates go for $700,000 to $2.5 million, depending on the view and placement on the mountain or the community, according to Jean Grimes, an agent with Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty.
Jenny McCall, co-owner of the S4Group at Keller Williams Sonoran Living, noted that the most recent luxury sale, recorded on Feb. 16, 2020, was $1.8 million—for a 4,500-square-foot home that is set on nearly an acre.
The 1,800-acre community has over 3,380 homes, the majority of them built between 1996 and 2002. The average lot size is 7,000 square feet, Ms. Grimes said, adding that there also are many custom homes.
In addition, there are a number of townhomes and villas that were built around 2003. “They are gated and have their own pool and spa,” Ms. Grimes said.
The dominant architectural styles are Mediterranean, Modern and Santa Fe, she said.
