Trip to the park, anyone?
After a pretty dark and dismal winter in the UK dealing with the usual lack of sunlight and not-so-normal lockdown, things might finally be on the up.
Not only are the clocks going forward to grant us a precious extra hour of daylight, but the weather has decided to join the fun. According to BBC weather, London could see highs of 18°C on Tuesday and Wednesday (March 30-31), along with spells of sunshine.
And, if you’re like us – counting down the days until each new stage of the roadmap out of lockdown – you’ll know this comes at just the right time. The Gods must be slightly in our favour (for now). That’s because from Monday (March 29), lockdown laws are beginning to ease, with groups of six permitted to meet up outdoors again.AdvertisementAdvertisementabout:blank
Loosened restrictions dictate that friends and family members will be allowed to meet in groups of six, or two households, as long as the meeting is not indoors. This includes meetups in private gardens. With outdoor sports also allowed, the good weather should ensure that early kickabouts are not brought to an early standstill by the rain.
So, it’s likely the good weather will provide a lifted mood across the capital, with barbecues and coffees being enjoyed across the green spaces. Plus, the Met Office even added that high pressure could extend into the Easter period over the following week, meaning more spells of higher temperatures than we’ve been used to in recent months.
Let’s also keep our fingers crossed that these spells continue into mid-April, when outdoor dining and beer gardens are due to open up across the UK.
