H. Moser & Cie. is among the prestigious watch brands that join the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy by participating in the Only Watch Charity Auction organized by the Monegasque Association. H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Only Watch will be auctioned on November 6th, 2021 in Geneva. The unique timepiece combines Vantablack® – the black coating which is considered to be the darkest man-made substance in existence – with its three-dimensional movement outfitted with a cylindrical hairspring, housed in the Streamliner case.
The Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Only Watch features a steel cushion 40 mm case and is topped with a domed sapphire crystal. The watch is water-resistant to 12 ATM.
Its three-dimensional cylindrical tourbillon movement was developed in 2020 in collaboration with MB&F. It highlights the balletic choreography of the 1-minute flying tourbillon equipped with a cylindrical hairspring that rises perpendicularly around the upper stem of the balance spindle. With the help of the cylindrical hairspring, fitted with a Breguet curve attached at two points, friction on the pivots is decreased.
To emphasize the depth of the cylindrical tourbillon movement, the dial of the watch is coated in Vantablack®. This super-black coating is composed of juxtaposed carbon nanostructures. When a photon hits Vantablack®, this material absorbs 99.965% of the light. Since our eyes require reflected light to see what we are looking at, Vantablack® is perceived as the absence of matter, a black hole. The hours and minutes dial is made from sapphire and tilted at a 40° angle.
H. Moser’s Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Only Watch is mounted on the highly complex Streamliner integrated steel bracelet. It has extremely fluid lines, based on organic forms. All the links are articulated and feature a gentle wave combining a vertical brushed finish with polished surfaces.
The Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Only Watch will be on display in Monaco during the Monaco Yacht Show from September 22nd to 25th, 2021. The Only Watch 2021 collection will then go on tour in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the USA, before finishing in Geneva on November 6th, 2021.
