Colonial-Style Mansion on a Private Peninsula in the Chesapeake Bay Region Heads to Auction

A more than 7,000-square-foot red brick mansion on its own peninsula in Maryland is set to be sold to the highest bidder in a live auction May 22.

The gated 6.4-acre property is located in Grasonville, about 20 miles east of Annapolis. The Colonial-style home is at the tip of the Piney Neck Point, where Greenwood Creek meets Prospect Bay in the Chesapeake Bay region, according to Elite Auctions, which is handling the sale. It’s also listed for sale for $4.45 million with agent Chuck Mangold Jr. of Benson and Mangold.

The home offers 360-degree views of the water, and there are vistas from almost every room, according to Joyce Damas, who owns the home with her husband, Mike Damas, the president of Maryland Capital Advisors, a wealth management firm.

“Whether I’m on the second floor…or the ground floor, I’ve got great views,” Ms. Damas said in a video about the property. “You can see the sun coming up in the morning, so there’s a serenity when you’re here.”

There’s also plenty of space to check out the sunsets from the grounds, she added. Plus, the property has a private cove, floating dock and a marina with lifts for water vehicles. Boating enthusiasts can be out on the water in no time, Mr. Damas noted in the video.

“But once we pull into our boat basin, it’s just real calm. It is a great little storm shelter,” he said.

The house has a range of amenities as well, including four en-suite bedrooms, plus two additional full bathrooms and two powder rooms, according to the listing. There’s also floor-to-ceiling windows, a Sonos multi-room sound system, an office with a library and fireplace, an eat-in kitchen, and a family room and dining area lead out to a patio.

Outside, there’s a saltwater pool, hot tub, pool house, outdoor kitchen, gazebo, a private boardwalk and a half-size baseball field, the listing said.

The Damas purchased the land in 1993 for just under $600,000, according to property records.

This is the first time this house has been offered for sale, according to Mr. Mangold.
