A nearly 16-acre Wyoming ranch will be auctioned with no reserve on July 20, according to Concierge Auctions, which is handling the sale.
Located in Sheridan, Wyoming, in the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains, the property features a 7,405-square-foot “modern rustic” home with seven bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms, a guest cabin and three fish ponds stocked with rainbow trout. It’s currently listed for $6 million with Jami Kessner, Kaycee Rader and Elizabeth Dearcorn of ERA Carroll Realty.
Known as Red Dog Ranch, the property also boasts private trails and forests, and it is adjacent to North Piney Creek and near 250 acres of state-owned land.
The home is also tucked away, Ms. Rader noted.
“When you’re driving by, you’d have no idea it was there,” she said. “It’s very secluded and private.”
That’s a plus for anyone moving from an urban area to the small Wyoming town, the agents
said. The Covid-19 pandemic has inspired many city dwellers to look for more space and land on ranches and other large properties, and Sheridan has seen an influx of people over the last year.
“It’s a destination for many outdoor enthusiasts from across the nation,” Ms. Kessner said, adding that the downtown is very vibrant for a small town.
Surrounded by pine and aspen trees, the home features an open floor plan with up to 17-foot ceilings, oversized windows framing mountain views, multiple fireplaces, a chef’s kitchen with Thermador appliances, a wine cellar and theater, and cigar rooms, according to the agents.
The primary bedroom suite includes a workout room, complete with an espresso machine, a steam shower, a dry sauna, dual vanities and a custom walk-in closet, plus a Fort Knox Vault, according to the listing.
There’s also an outdoor kitchen with a stone bar and a hog-roasting pit with a winch, the agents noted. In addition to the guest cottage, there’s a welding and woodworking shop and a three-car garage.
